Do you have exercise bulimia? Inside the eating disorder that men don't talk about

Do you find yourself plagued with obsessive thoughts about whether you’ve burned off enough calories during your last workout? These are all symptoms of exercise bulimia, a condition that, while lesser known than eating disorders like anorexia, is more common in men than you’d think. Exercise bulimia is a psychological disorder in which a person feels compelled to compensate for eating (or, in some cases, binge-eating) through exercise. Someone with exercise bulimia might want to immediately hit the trails after a large lunch, or tack on an extra ten minutes to a workout if they opted for a side of fries over your usual broccoli.

Eating Poppy Seeds in Pregnancy, an Ill-Advised Habit

The advice to stop eating once labor kicks in has always seemed a bit draconian to me. Giving birth is hard work; why not munch if you’re hungry? Now, in light of an incident that sounds like it’s cribbed from a Seinfeld episode, be advised to select your snack very carefully: a mom in western Pennsylvania recently lost custody of her newborn after the poppy seeds dotting her bagel yielded a positive drug test.

He was a familiar of the U.

Gilmore Girls Review: A Disappointing Return to Stars Hollow

The revival of Gilmore Girls, a series of four feature-length episodes subtitled A Year in the Life, is one of those funny long-tail cases that would never have been possible before this exact moment. The show, in its run on the WB and (briefly) the CW, was popular by those networks’ standards but no one’s idea of a crossover hit. At its peak, it was the 110th-most-popular show on the air.

History of the Wounded Knee Occupation

In February 1973, Stephanie Autumn of the Hopi tribe was a college student in California when a friend suggested she leave school and go get a different sort of education somewhere else: Wounded Knee, a hamlet in South Dakota which was about to be taken over by 200 American Indian movement (AIM) activists. “He told me, ‘You have the rest of your life to get your degree, but this is an opportunity for you to learn who you are,’” Autumn recalls in a recent phone conversation.
