Apple Watch 3: Hands-On With Apple's First LTE Smartwatch

September 12, 2017 8:12 PM EDT When Apple unveiled the Apple Watch Series 3 on Tuesday, it took a critical step toward making its smartwatch more than just an iPhone companion. The new Watch, which launches on September 22 for $399, is capable of making phone calls on its own when an iPhone isn’t within range. I tested this by placing a call to a TIME colleague in Iowa from Apple’s Steve Jobs Theater following the event.

Archie Comics Introduces First Gay Character

When you think of Archie Comics, you probably think of an old-fashioned soda shop, where the beautiful Betty and Veronica are inexplicably fighting over awkward redhead Archie Andrews. But the series is being brought into the 21st century with the addition of a gay character. The cover of the latest issue of Veronica, released in stores today, promotes the “hot new guy” at Riverdale High, Kevin Keller. But he’s certainly not Veronica’s new boyfriend.

Backward Walking Is the Best Workout You're Not Doing

I’ve spent my whole life happily walking in one direction: forward. It was, I believed, the only way to go, so I dutifully logged dozens of miles a month looking like every other person out for a morning stroll. No more. Thanks to TikTok, I discovered a new (to me, at least) spin on walking: backward walking, also known as “retro-walking.” Though it’s trending on social-media platforms right now, physical therapists and fitness trainers have been touting its benefits for years.

Barack Obama's Speech About Gun Control: Read the Transcript

THE PRESIDENT: Mark, I want to thank you for your introduction. I still remember the first time we met, the time we spent together, and the conversation we had about Daniel. And that changed me that day. And my hope, earnestly, has been that it would change the country. Five years ago this week, a sitting member of Congress and 18 others were shot at, at a supermarket in Tucson, Arizona.

Best Percale Sheets for a Cool, Crisp Feel

We spend a third of our life in bed, so it’s only logical to make that the most comfortable experience possible. One critical factor in a good night’s sleep is the quality of your bed sheets, so identifying the right ones for you should be a priority. Shoppers today can choose between a range of fabrics, from linen to sateen, but cotton percale remains a favorite among customers thanks to its cooling feel and crisp texture.

Beyonc, Jay Z, Blue Ivy Slayed in Barbie Halloween Costumes

November 1, 2016 11:07 AM EDT Although it didn’t seem like Beyoncé and Blue Ivy could top their epic Salt-N-Pepa get-up from Sunday, with the help of Jay Z, the pair may have just pulled it off. The famous family donned Barbie-themed outfits for Halloween, dressing as “Black Barbie,” “40th Anniversary Ken” and mini Barbie to celebrate the Halloween festivities. Queen Bee took to Instagram Tuesday to share several pictures of the group modeling the costumes, showing off their plastic perfection in various doll-like poses.

Big Love Watch: Good Girl, Naughty Girl

SPOILER ALERT: Don’t read this post until you’ve watched Big Love. With a butterscotch sundae and a Seven-Up. HBO photo: Lacey Terrell So despite the HBO promos last week declaring that this would be the Big Love everyone was going to talk about, I didn’t see that coming. (I had my money on Lois whacking someone, probably Frank.) Still, Roman’s death would set some interesting stories in motion: the freedom (and fallout) for Bill, Nicki’s loss of her father and the whole succession issue.
